Funding Coordinator

Job Summary

This position will work to identify state and federal infrastructure funding opportunities for our municipal clients in the water, wastewater, stormwater, and public facilities sectors. Will also work with Team members to match existing and potential clients with funding opportunities and help develop possible projects. Lead preparation of funding applications and supportive information.

Job Requirements

  • B.S. degree preferred in Public Administration, English, Journalism, Writing and/or Research.
  • Associate Degree plus 4+ years of grant writing experience minimum.
  • Excellent skills in Windows based office computer programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe is required.
  • Ability to conduct research through websites and online databases.
  • Knowledge of ESRI, ArcGIS, and other analytical software is a plus.
  • Possess strong communication, planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work within a team framework.
  • Ability to perform basic assignments independently.

Project Engineer

Job Summary:

With assistance or direction from Project Managers and Team Leaders, provide timely and accurate engineering design and/or construction engineering services which involve the application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria. Projects will predominately be related to water/wastewater utilities including planning, conveyance systems, pumping facilities, and treatment facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As a team member or individually, perform standard Civil Engineering duties, which involve limited judgement as to the methods to be used for completion. Under the supervision of more experienced staff, consult and work with others regarding:

  • Analysis of conventional engineering work on projects related to water/wastewater conveyance systems, urban streets, site development, stormwater, erosion control, water/wastewater treatment, and similar municipal infrastructure systems.
  • Planning, estimating, design work, and other engineering tasks.
  • Preparation of preliminary engineering reports.
  • Preparation of applications for state and federal funding programs.
  • Preparation of exhibits, drawings, draft specifications, and bidding documents.
  • Computer drafting and/or design of project elements.
  • Preparation of permit applications.
  • Participate in meetings with clients, and presentations.
  • Review contractor submittals and pay requests.
  • Visit project sites for planning, design, and construction observation.
  • Develop a clear working knowledge of technical skills used in engineering projects
  • Perform work in accordance with the firm’s standards for projects and project process.
  • Work with the Team Leaders and clients to promote the concepts of teamwork, client satisfaction, and continual improvement within the company.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or as apparent.

Job Requirements:

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Biological Systems Engineering or equivalent is required with course work in related subjects.
  • Experience as would be found in a person with co-op, internships, or other more limited professional work experience.
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination is required and progress toward professional licensure is preferred.

Water/Wastewater Design Engineer

Job Summary

This position will lead and direct the development of water/wastewater projects as a client-facing project manager, leveraging the candidate’s experience in water distribution system, wastewater collection system, pump/lift station, water/wastewater treatment facility, and stormwater management engineering including investigations, studies, analysis, design, and construction administration services. Clients will primarily be in local/state government sector, however some clients may be in the privately owned utility sector.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manage the planning, design, and construction administration of projects to ensure compliance with contracts, drawings, specifications,codes, statutes, rules, and regulations.
  • Preparation of exhibits, drawings, draft specifications, and bidding documents.
  • Computer drafting and/or design of subdivisions.
  • Preparation of permits.
  • Communicate with project teams establishing goals, and objectives for project teams, and scheduling and coordinating resources to deliverprojects on time, within budget, and to performance expectations.
  • Perform work in accordance with the firm’s standards for projects and project process.
  • Work directly with clients to determine needs and deliver solutions and lead the growth of client relationships with target clients including local Municipalities.
  • Support teams in the marketing and proposal phases of projects including preparation of winning proposals and successful presentations, as well as developing scopes of work and budgets for various water, wastewater, and stormwater projects.

Job Requirements

  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License
  • Minimum 10 years of water/wastewater and stormwater experience

Engineering Technician

Job Summary:

This position will be responsible for creating and updating engineering drawings and working on various assignments as a project team member to accomplish regular CAD/GIS drafting tasks. Projects include a wide variety of commercial, residential, municipal and educational.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include but are not limited to the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Create maps, designs, and drawings such as pump and piping plans, grading and drainage plans, site development plans, and conceptual designs for various construction projects.
  • Perform drafting task, including practicing CAD/GIS layering proposal to project documents.
  • Generate accurate and complete maps, record drawings, and other products for public and private agencies, other departments and organizations.
  • Prepare hard-line drawings, and all miscellaneous tasks as needed by team members of a project.
  • Participate actively in the project team collective effort.
  • Develop CAD/GIS drawings with reasonable direction
  • Prepare as-built record plans or drawings as well as digital redlines by means of CAD/GIS tools and other technology tools.
  • Perform CAD/GIS assignments in accordance with company standards.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of a high school/GED diploma
  • Associates Degree preferred but not required.
  • Minimum three to five years of experience as CAD Technician.
    • Must have experience with AutoCAD Civil3D, ArcGIS (preferred) and Windows based office computer programs. Knowledge of related software including Microstation, Geopak, WaterCAD, Microsoft Project, HydroCAD and other analytical software is preferred.

Survey Technician

Job Summary:

This position will be responsible for creating and updating survey drawings and working on various assignments as a project team member to accomplish regular CAD drafting tasks. Projects include alta surveys, boundary & topographic surveys, construction staking computations and much more.

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who works well with team members.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum of a high school/GED diploma
  • Associates Degree preferred but not required.
  • Minimum three to five years of experience as CAD Technician.
  • Must have experience with AutoCAD Civil3D and Windows based office computer programs.
  • Experience with Trimble Business Center and/or Carlson Software is preferred but not required.
